Pat Cummins in IPL 2024: Top 3 teams to target The Australian skipper during the auction

Pat Cummins in IPL 2024 would be targetted by these top 3 teams to secure the star bowler on their side:

1. Chennai Super Kings:

The defending champions won their 5th IPL Title with their exceptional batting and bowling lineup. However, when compared to the bowling line-up, the batsmen displayed their dominant performance.

CSK would be targeting to welcome a well-talented fast bowler who could grab instant wickets without conceding many runs while defending any total. Additionally, the fast bowler should be able to score runs while batting at the tail-enders.

In such scenarios, CSK  would mostly prefer Pat Cummins in IPL 2024.

Also, the retirement of Ambati Rayudu paves an extra space for an additional fast bowler. As a result, the batting lineup moved one spot ahead. This offers flexibility with the inclusion of a fast bowler to score finishing runs with the bat.

Additionally, CSK is in the hunt for an alternative option for a skipper. If MS Dhoni retires from IPL, the players need a perfect leader to guide the young players in the team. If Selected by CSK, Pat Cummins would get a perfect opportunity to showcase his cricketing skills and decision-making abilities.

2. Kolkata Knight Riders:

Pat Cummins is highly demanded by KKR after the World Cup 2023 finals.  With the lack of Pace bowling options and their inability to qualify for the playoffs, the inclusion of Cummins in the playing XI is an added advantage.

Additionally, the management of Kolkata Knight Riders would be seeking the best fast bowler who could simultaneously fit into these roles by exhibiting crucial skills such as:

  • Brilliancy as a captain
  • Best Finisher at the tail-enders to score crucial runs, which could turn out to be the defending moment of the match.
  • Grab crucial wickets instantaneously by conceding fewer runs.

3. Gujarat Titans:

The IPL 2022 champions and the runner-up of IPL 2023 would be aiming to strengthen their bowling line-up. Though there aren’t any drawbacks in their batting and bowling line-up, the Titans would be aiming to overcome their loss in the IPL 2023 finals.

After a dominating entry into the finals, the Gujarat Titans lost the finals by a last-ball thriller of the match against CSK.

Mainly, the inclusion of Pat Cummins along with Mohammed Shami would provide great support with the new ball to grab wickets instantly.

Both Pat Cummins and Mohammed Shami proved to be a tough nut to crack for the opposition team batsmen.

Incredibly, the massive combination of Mohammed Shami and Pat Cummins in IPL 2024 would prove to be destructive for the opposition team’s in-form batsmen.
