Pakistan’s Packed Home Season: What Awaits Sri Lanka and England?

Pakistan White Ball Series: Pakistan are set for a busy home season this October and November, with Sri Lanka and England both travelling to the country for a packed run of international cricket.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed a schedule running from October 9 to November 21, with Sri Lanka involved in T20Is and Tests, while England joins Pakistan and Sri Lanka for a six-match ODI tri-series. The programme will take cricket to Rawalpindi, Lahore and Islamabad.

Sri Lanka to Start the Tour with T20Is

Sri Lanka will be the first visiting team to arrive. Pakistan will host the Islanders in a three-match T20I series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on October 9, 11 and 13.

The series gives Pakistan an early chance to get back into T20I action after the 2026 T20 World Cup. All three matches will be played in Rawalpindi, keeping the opening part of the tour at one venue.

For Sri Lanka, the T20Is will provide an important opportunity to test combinations and give players valuable game time before the longer formats later in the tour.

England Joins for an ODI Tri-Series

The schedule becomes even more interesting from October 18, when England joins Pakistan and Sri Lanka for a six-match ODI tri-series.

The tournament will begin in Rawalpindi, where Pakistan face Sri Lanka on October 18. Pakistan will then meet England on October 20, followed by Sri Lanka against England on October 22.

The action will then move to Lahore. Pakistan will face England on October 25 before taking on Sri Lanka on October 27. Sri Lanka and England will meet again on October 29.

The top two teams will qualify for the final, which is scheduled for October 31 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The tri-series is also useful preparation for all three sides as they look towards the 2027 ODI World Cup. The ICC has described the tournament as part of the road towards next year’s World Cup.

Tests Bring the Tour to a Close

After the white-ball matches, Sri Lanka will remain in Pakistan for the Test leg of the tour. Before the Tests, the two teams will play a three-day warm-up match in Islamabad from November 4 to 6. It will allow both sides to prepare for conditions before the first Test.

The first Test will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from November 9 to 13. The second and final Test will then move to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from November 17 to 21.

Both matches are part of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship cycle, making the series important beyond the immediate contest. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be looking to collect valuable WTC points as they continue their campaigns.

A Busy Stretch for Pakistan Cricket

The schedule gives Pakistan a rare chance to play three formats at home against strong opposition within a short period. The T20I series against Sri Lanka will test Pakistan’s shortest-format plans, while the ODI tri-series brings England into the picture and offers all three teams competitive preparation for the 2027 World Cup. The Test series then shifts the focus completely towards red-ball cricket and the WTC.

For fans, the biggest attraction will be the number of international matches spread across Rawalpindi and Lahore. With seven ODI matches including the final, three T20Is, a warm-up game and two Tests, Pakistan’s October-November home season promises plenty of cricket.

The tour will also be closely watched because England and Pakistan have already faced each other in a three-Test series in England in August and September 2026. England’s return to Pakistan later in the year will add another chapter to that contest.

With the schedule now confirmed, Pakistan’s home season has plenty at stake in every format. Sri Lanka will have to handle a demanding tour, England will enter the ODI tri-series with a World Cup build-up in mind, and Pakistan will have the advantage of playing in familiar conditions throughout a packed seven-week period.
