We are into the business end of the IPL 2023 league stages. And the IPL 2023 playoffs are not far away. A few teams have a great chance to reach the IPL playoff, while some teams are still struggling to make it into the top 4.
We have seen so many interesting games in the IPL 2023 and some nail-biting finishes as well. Almost all the teams have only 3 or 4 games left. And today, we will talk about those 4 teams who can make it to the IPL 2023 playoffs. We will also see the points table as well. So let’s get dive into it straight away.
Teams who can reach the IPL 2023 playoff:-
(1) Gujarat Titans (GT)
Gujarat Titans have been phenomenal ever since they came into the scene in the IPL last year. Last year as well, they won the title in their first outings in the tournament by beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the final.
This year as well, they are playing like a champion and every day, they have found a new match winner. It is looking like there is no fault in their team and the balance and the combination of the team is very good.
From the openers to the middle orders to the bowlers (pacers and spinners), all the players are doing well. They have all the basics covered in their team.
Right now, they are all set to make it to the IPL playoff. They are at No. 1 position in the points table with 8 wins in 11 games. And their net run rate (NRR) is +0.951.
They will try to win the remaining games so that they will finish in the top 2 spots. It will give him 2 chances to reach the finals in case they lost the first qualifier game.

Gujarat’s remaining game will be against Mumbai Indians (MI), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
(2) Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
Chennai Super Kings is one of the most successful franchises in the history of IPL (Indian Premier League) with 4 titles. They have reached the IPL playoffs most of the time and played the most finals as compared to the other teams.
Last year, they finished 2nd last in the points table and only managed to win 4 games. It was a very bad season for them. But they have shown why they are a big team.
Right now, they are standing at No. 2 in the points table with 6 wins in 11 games. And their one game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) was washed out due to rain. CSK is also a strong contender to reach the IPL 2023 playoffs.

Their remaining games will be against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and two games against Delhi Capitals (DC).
(3) Mumbai Indians (MI)
MI is the most successful franchise in the history of IPL. They have won 5 titles in the IPL; all under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
MI also had a very bad season in IPL 2022. They finished last in the points table and only managed to win 4 games. In the IPL 2023, they didn’t start off really well, but we have seen them over the years. They have the ability to come back from behind.
MI is peaking at the right time. And they know how to come back when their backs are against the wall. Right now, they are standing at No. 3 in the points table with 6 wins in 11 games. Their NRR (-0.255) is still a concern for them.

Their remaining games will be against Gujarat Titans (GT), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
(4) Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)/ Rajasthan Royals (RR)
We have picked these two teams; one of which could have reached the top 4. LSG has a better chance as they have 11 points (one game against CSK was washed out), and they are at No. 4 in the points table. If they win their remaining games against SRH, MI, and KKR.
RR, on the other hand, has dipped in the later part of the tournament. They had won the first 4 games out of 5 but now lost the last 5 out of their 6 games. The only thing in their favor is their NRR (+0.388) is better than the other teams lower than them. They also have a better NRR than LSG. So they have an outside chance to reach the IPL 2023 playoffs if they win their remaining games against KKR, RCB, and PBKS.
All the other teams are also not out of the tournament. And they will fight hard to reach the IPL playoff. There will be an upheaval in the points table as 5 teams have won the same number of games.
KKR, RCB, and PBKS also have an outside chance and they have to win their remaining games. On the other hand, the chance of SRH and DC are looking bleak as they only managed to win 4 games out of their 10 games each.
