Royal Challengers Bangalore Team’s SWOT Analysis: IPL 2023

With IPL 2023 around the corner, all teams are preparing to put their all in. Everyone is building their best of playing 11 to grab the title this year. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings want to regain the form they lost last season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are dying to get their first IPL title. They have quite a strong team this year. During the IPL auction this year, they got Will Jacks for INR 3.2 crores and Reece Topley for 1.9 crores. Topley can prove to be an excellent backup bowler for Josh Hazlewood.

Though RCB looks strong, there must be some weaknesses too. So, we are going to discuss the complete SWOT analysis of the team below.

1. Strength

If we look at the last three seasons of the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore is playing quite well. They did enter the playoffs consistently.

As per the RCB team for IPL 2023, the batting lineup is deep enough with Shahbaz, Hasaraga, and Harshal with them.

They have quite a good choice of fast pace bowlers. Those are Josh Hazelwood, Harshal Patel, and Mohammad Siraj. Even the backups for those such as David Willey, Reece Topley, and Siddharth Kaul are also quite good.

Also, the spin bowlers like Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Wanindu Hasaranga are also strong assets. And, of course, Karn Sharma is a great backup for them.

2. Weaknesses

T20 cricket requires a hitter from the very first ball. Which the team, Royal Challengers Bangalore is lacking. Though Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis play well during the middle. Finn Allen is the player who has the ability but lacks the experience to resolve this issue in IPL 2023.

Another thing to worry about is not being well aware of the home venue i.e Chinnaswamy stadium. The team has seven matches there. Thus, both Hasaranga and Mohammad Siraj need to bowl the way what it takes. In fact, Mohammad Siraj’s performance last year was not up to the mark. But, of course, he has the experience now. But, if it does not work out, RCB will be in great trouble.

3. Opportunities

As we all have seen that our aggressive player and the classy batsman is back in form. Virat Kohli played extremely well in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. His strike rate was 142. And, who can forget one the greatest knock of his, under pressure during the match against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. He scored 82 runs and took the team to victory.

Another player is Rajat Patidar, whose batting was epic during the last season of the IPL. During an eliminator match, he did score a century for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Thus, both these players in form can definitely get RCB what they want in IPL 2023.

4. Threats

Though the team seems to be in good shape. There are still a few matters of concern for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The very first thing is the injury of Glenn Maxwell. During his birthday, the player got a leg injury. Because of this, he was unable to be part of any match for three months. This is definitely bad news for RCB.

Also, as the team relies a lot on the spin bowler Hasaranga. But, because of some other commitments, he will also be joining the IPL 2023 after a few matches.

Therefore, RCB might have to suffer because of those issues.

Conclusion

Both the players in the playing 11 as well as the backups are good. And, the team is in the form too. Of course, the minor issues could be handled by the franchises and the team.

So, the fans are definitely wishing them to win this season. And, it is also energetic to watch those players play. They are definitely going to put it all in just like every other game. It will be just like a war taking place on the ground. And the major question is, who is going to win this Indian Premier League title this year? We will find that out later. But the entertainment is assured in the upcoming season. So, just wait for a few more weeks. Just clear your schedule and make plans with loved ones.
