SWOT Analysis of Rajasthan Royals (RR) Squad | IPL 2024
1. Strength of Rajasthan Royals
⏩ Opening Batsmen:
Rajasthan Royals opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler are the biggest assets for the team. However, opening batsman, Yashasvi Jaiswal did not perform as expected in the 1st four matches of Rajasthan (RR). Still, he is a class player and will perform any time the team needs him the most.
Jos Buttler was also not doing well in the 1st 3 matches of the IPL 2024. But he was on fire against Royal Challengers Bangalore, he hit a century against RCB in the 4th match, Jos Buttler completed his 100 in just 58 balls with a strike rate of 172.41.
Even though Jaiswal has not performed the recent IPL matches, the dual combination can provide an explosive start while also laying the stage for a strong middle order.
⏩ Strong Middle Order
Rajasthan has a strong middle-order batsman – Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, and Dhruv Jurel. These all players have started very well and are performing well this IPL 2024.
Apart from these inform middle-order, Rajasthan improves their middle-order problem from last year’s IPL 2023. It was the main issue in the RR squad last year. However, in this IPL Auction 2024, Rajasthan bought Rovman Powell as a backup for Hetmyer and has Dhruv Jurel in the middle order to make their squad more solid.
Even though Rovman Powell was not in the starting lineup in the recent IPL 2024 match with the Royals, everybody knows his hitting abilities. So whenever he is in the squad, he will perform. Powell has built a reputation for himself and is often regarded as a handy finisher.

- Rovman Powell
- Ravichandran Ashwin
- Keshav Maharaj
- Abid Mushtaq

RR lacks the all-rounders. Only 2 all-rounder – Rovman Powell [ backup for Shimron Hetmyer ] and Ravichandran Ashwin are in the squad. Ravichandran Ashwin is known for his spin bowling.
