ICC Awards 2024: From Team of the Year to Individual Player of the Year Award | Jaspit Bumrah & Amelia Kerr Dominate
ICC Awards 2024: The ICC (International Cricket Council), just like every year, has announced their awards for the Men’s and Women’s cricketers based on their performances and impact in 2024. They have also announced the ICC Team of the Year in all formats (both men and women). Jasprit Bumrah, after having an outstanding run with the ball in 2024, has won the ICC Cricketer of the Year and Test Cricket of the Year Awards 2024. Smriti Mandhana has won the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year Award.

Jasprit Bumrah: ICC Cricketer of the Year and Test Cricketer of the Year (2024)
India’s premier fast-bowler Jasprit Bumrah becomes the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2024 after his stellar performances across all formats. The Indian team hasn’t played many ODIs this year, and Jasprit Bumrah didn’t feature even in those games. But, he has done exceptionally well in test cricket and T20Is in 2024. Bumrah has made a huge contribution to India’s winning a T20 World Cup under the leadership of Rohit Sharma in 2024. In tests, he surpassed all other bowlers with his performances, taking 71 wickets in 4 series. He becomes the player of the series in the recently concluded BGT 2024-25.
With his outstanding performances in tests, Jasprit Bumrah also becomes ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year. After winning ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year, Bumrah said – “I am deeply honored to receive the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year award. Test cricket has always been a format I hold close to my heart, and to be recognized on this platform is truly special.”
Bumrah also thanked his teammates, coaches, and his fans who believed in him and inspired him every day. He also said representing India is a privilege.
Smriti Mandhana Becomes the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year for 2nd Time
Smriti Mandhana, India’s prolific opener in women’s cricket has won this year’s ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year. She smashed 747 runs in 13 ODIs this year and it’s the 2nd time for her to win this award.
After winning the award, she said – “Winning the 2024 ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year Award has been an incredible honor. I recall how memorable it was to receive this award for the first time in 2018. It inspired my desire to succeed for my nation. And now that I’ve won the prize twice, it will inspire me even more to pursue greatness.” (Quoted by us).
Azmatullah Omarzai: ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year
Afghanistan’s all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai becomes this year’s ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year after an all-round show. His performances with both, the bat and the ball have been phenomenal. He scored 417 runs in ODIs with an average of 52.12 and took 17 wickets with an average of 20.47.
Amelia Kerr: ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year and T20I Cricketer of the Year
NZ’s all-rounder Amelia Kerr becomes ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year after her all-round show. She has played a huge role in NZ’s triumph in Women’s T20 WC 2024. Kerr has picked up 15 wickets in T20 WC 2024. It is the most number of wickets taken by a bowler in a single Women’s T20 WC edition. She also becomes ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year.
Arshdeep Singh: ICC Men’s T20 Cricketer of the Year
A left-arm pacer from India has tasted huge success in the shortest format of the game. He is now a premier bowler in T20Is for India after Jasprit Bumrah. He has now won the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year.
Kamindu Mendis: ICC Emerging Men’s Cricketer of the Year
A youngster from Sri Lanka has shown his prowess in international cricket this year. He has done well with the bat across formats, in all conditions. He becomes this year’s ICC Emerging Men’s Cricketer as well.
Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Year: Gerhard Erasmus
A 29-year-old all-rounder from Namibia has done well this year and won the ICC Men’s Associate Cricketer of the Year.
Annerie Dercksen: Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year
A 23-year-old South African all-rounder becomes ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year after her good performances. She has taken 11 wickets and scored 300 runs across formats in international cricket till now.
Esha Oza: Women’s Associate Cricketer of the Year
A 26-year-old UAE cricketer has been performing well and in good form recently. Because of her stellar show, she won the ICC Women’s Associate Cricketer of the Year.
