

Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023 eliminator to storm into qualifier 2. They won the game quite convincingly by 81 runs. After the match, the fans in the stadium started chanting ‘Kohli, Kohli’ to mock Gautam Gambhir. The video also goes viral on social media as well.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. Mumbai Indians made a strong start but lost both of its openers in the span of just six balls. Then, for the third wicket, the two in-form MI batsmen Suryakumar Yadav and Cameron Green contributed 66 runs for the 3rd wicket.
LSG was able to get back to the game after Naveen ul Haq took the wickets of both batsmen in a single over. Surya scored 33 from 20 balls, and Green scored 41 off 23. N Wadhera contributed a valuable cameo of 23 off 12 balls, and Tilak Varma struck 26 off 22. MI managed to score 182 runs on the board in the first inning.
MI’s pacers get the job done for the team
When LSG went out to chase the target, they lost two wickets for a total of 23 runs only. Marcus Stoinis, who hit the majority of the runs, and captain Krunal Pandya contributed 46 runs for the third wicket.
But after that partnership, MI didn’t give a chance to LSG batters.
With the ball, Akash Madhwal stood out, taking 5 wickets for just 5 runs. These are the best figures by the bowler in an IPL playoff history. He was also the player of the match. M Stoinis was the lone LSG fighter in the 2nd inning.

After the match, the fans in the stadium started chanting ‘Kohli, Kohli’ in front of Gautam Gambhir. They did it just to mock Gautam Gambhir because he had been involved in a fight with Virat Kohli.
Virat’s fans didn’t like that and they started shouting Virat’s name when Gautam Gambhir was talking to Sachin Tendulkar after the game.
Before that as well, after LSG’s game against KKR, fans were shouting Kohli’s name when Gautam Gambhir was going back to the dressing room.
Everything started in the RCB-LSG league stage match
Everything started when in the league stages, Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli engaged in a verbal spat after the RCB-LSG game. This incident happened in the 2nd league stage game of RCB and LSG, involving Amit Mishra and Naveen ul Haq.
Actually, what happens is Virat Kohli, in his naturally aggressive avatar, was enjoying every wicket of LSG batters in that game. and showing some gestures as well.
Virat Kohli also engaged in a verbal spat with Naveen ul Haq and Amit Mishra during LSG’s inning. It was a very tense game, and after the match ended, Naveen ul Haq and Virat Kohli were seen arguing with each other.

There’s an old history between Virat and Gautam
It’s not the first time that Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were involved in a fight. In 2013 as well, there were some verbal spat happened between the two.
The incident happened in 2013 when Gautam Gambhir was the captain of KKR. When Virat was going back to the dressing room after getting out, he saw Gautam saying something and came back to have a word with him.
Other players and the umpires intervene and the matter was settled. Since then, there are some grudges in both the players for each other.
It was not the case when Virat Kohli came new to the scene. In a game against Sri Lanka, Gautam Gambhir gave his Man of the Match award to Virat Kohli because of his outstanding inning. It was Virat’s first hundred as well.
