The celebrations expanded across the state borders of the nation after India lifted the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with a 4-wicket victory against New Zealand in the finals at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS). As the cricketers celebrated their joyful moments with a freestyle dance and wholehearted laughs, people all over the country too celebrated the success with immense enthusiasm.
The entire nation celebrated India’s victory, and Mumbai, the city of dreams that is always active and bustling, day and night, took to the streets to join the celebration. The latest video showed a huge crowd of people having fun and dancing with joy after India achieved its seventh ICC title as well as their third championship title of the tournament.
Mumbai Crowd’s Trophy Madness: Joyful Reaction To India’s Victory
The latest video released by the ANI news on their official social media handle ‘X’ showed hundreds or even thousands of Mumbai fans wildly dancing and jumping with happy faces holding the Indian national flag raised high.
Among the huge crowd, an energetic individual was spotted lifting a dummy trophy and dancing along with his friends, surrounded by hundreds of crowds to recreate the winning moments of the Champions Trophy 2025.
To cover the trophy madness in Mumbai, several media groups were noted in the video that spread over the massive crowd.
Team India’s Remarkable Win And Eye-Catching Celebrations
After 12 long years, the Indian cricket team won their third Champions Trophy title under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, who was a part of the 2013 winning squad led by MS Dhoni.
Team India’s spin bowling attack demolished the Kiwis’ batting line-up. Not to forget Rohit’s 57th ODI fifty that laid the foundation for the men-in-blue’s successful run chase.
In addition, the contribution from Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, and KL Rahul in the middle order guided India to chase the target under tricky conditions. Ravindra Jadeja struck a boundary in the last ball of the 49th over to finish the game in style.
The celebrations at the DICS were as grand as the victory of the Indian cricket team. Inspired by Virat Kohli’s sensational Gangnam-style celebrations from the 2013 edition, Shreyas Iyer too recreated the famous dancing style.
Moreover, the former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar burst out of happiness. He was spotted jumping and dancing like a young boy.
Interestingly, the Ro-Ko (Rohit and Kohli) played Dandiya (a traditional Indian dance) using the stumps onto the pitch after winning the match.
Rohit Sharma’s Grand Welcome in Mumbai
The Champions Trophy 2025-winning skipper Rohit Sharma was offered a heroic welcome following his arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
The 37-year-old along with his family, reached Mumbai around 8 pm the very next day after the finals (on March 10).
As soon as the Indian skipper came out of the airport, he received huge cheers and applause from the fans, who had been waiting long hours for his arrival.
A proper security team was arranged for Rohit outside the airport. Additionally, the duties of the police officers surrounding Rohit became much tougher as fans rushed to congratulate him and expected to either take a selfie or get a blessed handshake.
No Bus Parade to Celebrate Champions Trophy 2025 Success
Despite India winning the Champions Trophy after 12 years, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), didn’t plan any bus parade to elevate the celebrations. This is because such occasions are reserved only for India’s triumph in the World Cup on foreign soil.
Also, the nation’s cricketing board didn’t conduct any bus parade after India’s Champions Trophy triumph in 2013 under MS Dhoni’s captaincy.
The wild visuals of countless fans crowded in the streets of Mumbai roaring at the top of their voices to celebrate India’s T20 World Cup triumph in the previous year remain fresh in our memory. After eight and half months it was expected that Team India would get another chance to celebrate their success with another bus parade in Mumbai.
However, a repeat of similar events is unlikely to occur as the Indian cricketers are certain to return to different cities individually. While Rohit Sharma and the all-rounder Hardik Pandya arrived at Mumbai airport, the head coach Gautam Gambhir and pace bowler Harshit Rana reached New Delhi. The batting stalwart Virat Kohli is expected to return soon.
Moreover, the Champions Trophy 2025 winners hardly get any time to spend with their family and loved ones, as they have to get involved in the training sessions once again ahead of the commencement of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on March 22.
